Almost Heaven Saunas

We try to makeit clear that when you buy a sauna, you’re making a financial investment in your health.

If you want the best experience and value, you have to be willing to put quality above all else. But quality doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to spend a fortune on your home sauna.

That’s where Almost Heaven Saunas comes in. The company has been in the business for more than four decades, and their consumer-friendly models are built with quality in mind.

Why Choose Almost Heaven Saunas?

Based in West Virginia, Almost Heaven has been building traditional wooden saunas by hand for more than 40 years. These handcrafted saunas come in easy-to-assemble kits made in the Finnish tradition.

Almost Heaven creates their saunas in their mountain-based factory in Renick, West Virginia. They’re one of the few sauna manufacturers based in the United States.

Quality is what sets Almost Heaven saunas apart from other brands.

The Finest Quality Wood

The company uses only the finest sauna softwoods, which are thick, solid and soft. Saunas from other brands have laminated sections of poor-quality wood, which have hollow walls.

Each board used in Almost Heaven saunas is hand-planed and inspected to ensure that it meets the company’s rigorous standards.

Thick wood sections keep the sauna well-insulated. This means that the sauna heats up quickly and stays hot. But here’s the good news: the wood never becomes uncomfortable to the touch.

Stainless Steel Hardware and Tempered Glass

All of the hardware found in Almost Heaven saunas, including the door hinges and bands, is made from high-grade stainless steel.

Tempered glass is used for your safety.

Almost Heaven uses minimal fasteners, and they’re all placed in such a way that you won’t burn or injure yourself by accidentally brushing up against them.

Exceptional Heaters with Temperature Control

In addition to using the best quality wood and hardware, Almost Heaven Saunas also outfits their models with exceptional heaters from the top brands in the industry. All heaters have temperature controls as well as automatic shut-off timers for added safety.

Almost Heaven uses heaters from Harvia, a Finnish company that was founded in 1950.

They’ve also partnered with Harvia to offer their indoor and outdoor sauna models in the United States.

Each sauna comes with a box of 40 pounds of stones for the heater. These stones are heated by the heater’s elements, and they allow you to enjoy either a dry or wet sauna experience. Just add water to the rocks for an exhilarating burst of steam.

Lifetime Warranty

Almost Heaven stands by their products, which is why they offer a lifetime warranty on their saunas. The company includes a copy of the warranty information in the installation packet of each sauna.

What Types of Saunas Does Almost Heaven Offer?

Almost Heaven offers four types of saunas to meet every need: indoor, outdoor, cabin and infrared.

Indoor Saunas

The indoor saunas offered by Almost Heaven are made from solid wood, and they come in a wide range of designs and sizes. Units arrive in kit form, making it easy for two people to assemble it in just a few hours.

Almost Heaven has three lines of indoor saunas:

  • Respite: Manufactured using Nordic spruce and equipped with a Finnish sauna heater.
  • Element: Manufactured using Nordic spruce, this line features a combination of horizontal and vertical board patterns to create a contemporary design.
  • Artisan: Manufactured using high-grade hemlock lumbar with red cedar accents, deluxe sauna heater and privacy glass.

What makes Almost Heaven Saunas’ indoor models unique is that they use heat and steam to provide an authentic steam sauna experience. Yes, you can actually pour water over the rocks to generate a burst of exhilarating steam. It’s rare to find indoor saunas that offer this experience.

Outdoor Saunas

Almost Heaven Saunas’ outdoor models feature a simple barrel-shape design, which is highly efficient.

Barrel-shaped saunas heat up faster, as there is less overall space and the air can easily circulate. Heat is distributed evenly, too. Instead of the rising heat collecting at the ceiling (which is what happens with a box sauna), the air is circulated back down along the curved walls.

Because these saunas heat up easily and distribute the heat evenly, they use less energy overall.

Barrel-shaped saunas are structurally sound, naturally weather-resistant and beautiful to look at.

Like the indoor saunas, Almost Heaven Saunas’ outdoor models come in easy-to-assemble kit form, which includes a bucket and ladle. And like their indoor models, these saunas offer an authentic steam sauna experience.

Almost Heaven offers two lines of saunas in this category:

  • Classic: Manufactured in cedar with a full-size bench inside.
  • Canopy: Manufactured in cedar, these saunas have a canopy porch outside and offer the option of using an electric or wood burning heater.

Cabin Saunas

Almost Heaven Saunas’ cabin models deliver the original, authentic Scandinavian sauna experience. There are several models available, and they can be outfitted with wood burning or electric sauna stoves.

There are two lines available in this category:

  • Timber Series: A rustic collection of saunas built with Nordic spruce timber.
  • Cottage Series: Manufactured using Nordic spruce wood, with accents of glass, louvered panels and contrasting trim.

Infrared Saunas

Almost Heaven Saunas’ infrared models are manufactured using solid hemlock and tempered glass. Designed for indoor use, these far infrared saunas offer full-body benefits. They deliver the health benefits of sunlight without the damaging effects of ultraviolet rays.

There are three lines of infrared saunas offered by the company:

  • Lucent Series: Manufactured with smooth hemlock, these saunas offer carbon fiber panels and chromotherapy lighting. These models also have a digital audio system and an ionizer to cleanse the air.
  • Spectrum Series: Features carbon crystal heater panels as well as spectrum quartz lighting, Bluetooth audio speakers and a ceiling fan for optimal airflow.
  • Radiant Infrared Sauna: Manufactured with hemlock, these saunas offer soft lighting, Bluetooth audio and light therapy.

Almost Heaven Saunas are handcrafted and made with high-quality materials. They sound almost too good to be true on paper. What do users have to say about these models?

If there’s one thing buyers can agree on, it’s that these saunas are built with high-quality materials and designed to last.

Reviewers say Almost Heaven Saunas are:

  • Easy to put together
  • Provide relief for aching muscles
  • Highly durable
  • Beautiful to look at

There’s just one caveat with these saunas: you need to provide your own flooring. All of the saunas from Almost Heaven are floor-less, so you’ll use your existing interior floor. Suitable floor options include ceramic, concrete, vinyl, tile, laminate and solid floors. The company does not recommend placing their indoor saunas on top of carpeting (for obvious reasons).

Two people can put these saunas together in about four hours. The more help you have, the quicker the assembly process. Four hours is still a small price to pay for years of the health-promoting benefits your sauna will offer you.
